This is me with my first grandson, born in January of 2010.
My 4th grandbaby was born in January of 2015! How cool is that?!
PLUS, she was the first girl, so of course I needed to make her a
Grandmother’s Fan quilt!
Before the baby arrived, I made mom a comfy backpack with matching accessory bags.
Some of my best design ideas begin with mistakes that “evolve” into “creative solutions” ha ha. That is how I came up with this backpack. I was trying to experiment with a different idea, which wasn’t going as planned…but I ended up with just what I needed for the backpack, which I couldn’t seem to get figured out the first time I thought about it. So, I never know what I’m going to end up with sometimes…I just “go with the flow” of creativity to see where it leads me.
Since I like to make most things extra big or extra sturdy, or both, I have to think of a different approach than normal to get the job done. So, I have certain techniques of construction that are all my own, which have been a gradual learning process through my 35 years of sewing and quilting. Of course, there is always more to learn, which is why it stays so addicting, right?
Over the years, I have spent most of my time sitting in front of a sewing machine or a computer…ha ha…but I have to admit: After seeing this awesome couch and chair set, I sure think I could make some time to relax and enjoy them…ha ha! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this set!!!
